ALEXANDRA CANET
Science and technoloy communicator, Head of Communication and Outreach at the Computer Vision Center
This is a recurrent activity taking place every WEDNESDAY from 07/11/2018 to 26/02/2019 (please consult the leaflet for specific dates).
ExperimentAI is a project developed and coordinated by the Computer Vision Center from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (CVC-UAB) with the collaboration and funding of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT for its initials in Spanish) – Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades.
ExperimentAI pretends to contribute to the democratisation of universal access and creation of knowledge for all people, boost literacy within the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision area, foster citizen participation in science and innovation processes, triggering science vocations, with an emphasis in the quality and excellence of our national research system.
The project has a total of 15 sessions, oriented to different publics, which will take place periodically at the Library Living Lab of the Miquel Batllori Library in the Volpelleres neighbourhood, in Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona). These sessions are grouped in five themes: Autonomous Mobility, Digital Humanities, Connected Health, Communication and Social Networks, and Education and labour. Attendees will discover, along the sessions, the basic concepts of how AI algorithms work, with demonstrations and interactive activities, always in ludic, didactic and hands on workshops. This initiative positions the Library Living Lab as an open space for citizen experimentation, in which to explore how technology transforms the vital experience of people, and in which to discover and participate in the co-design of our society.
