Memory Fields: Historical Photos from Sant Cugat

26th February 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

“Memory Fields” is a prototype that helps people to navigate in digital collections using the video DJ paradigm.

During this new exhibition we tackle 2 different collections:

  1. Historical photos from old houses (“masies”) from Sant Cugat. This collection consists of 50 photographs of historical houses of Sant Cugat, with its corresponding GPS position.
  2. Recent history of Volpelleres neighbourhood. This is a private collection consisting of 100 high definition panoramic photos that exposes the urban evolution of the neighbourhood in the last decade. The fund has been provided by the Library user and Volpelleres neighbour Jordi Gallego.

We include in the Memory Field interface the possibility of  visualising the GPS position from which the photo was taken and the chance of introducing comments and memories from the places.

This event has been organised in collaboration with the Archive of the Sant Cugat del Vallès Municipality.
