This is a recurrent activity taking place each 15 days.
I am Fernando, physicist and computer scientist, I am fascinated about exploring how technology can transform the learning experiences, I help to run the activity “Educational Apps” every 15 days at the Library Living Lab. This activity was first designed by the form director of the Volpelleres Library, Marcos Catalan, with the aim of evaluating and ranking educational apps. The firs aim was to create an assessment grid that could go beyond the comments and stars given by users in the Google Play or Apple Store.
With the participation of a number of teachers form the local schools, and ordinary people but learning enthusiasts, the activity evolved towards the sharing of the methodologies and the analysis of different apps, both in quantitative and a in qualitative terms. We have 2 main aims:
- Build up The Library Living Lab Assessment Grid for Educational Apps, which will help us to evaluate the apps with a specific set of incators.
- To assess a set of apps, in order to create the Library Living Lab Virtual Shelf of Educational Apps.
